
Our Church Ministries
There are a variety of ministries, classes and programs for those who are interested in
serving the Lord, or learning more about God's word. There is truly something for
everyone! Please contact the church office for more information.
- Adult Bible Fellowships and Sunday School Classes
- A variety of classes that minister to the specific needs of each age or marital group
within the church. Each class plans and prepares activites and special events for their
group.
- AWANA Clubs - Youngsters from
Pre-Kindergarten through Junior High meet every Wednesday night from September to June.
Our "club" format focuses on scripture memorization, games and fun. AWANA stands
for "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed" (2
Timothy 2:15).
- Bookstore - Provides sale of English and Spanish bibles and
Christian literature to the congregation.
- Children's Choir - Teaches and prepares children for special
Easter and Christmas services musical programs.
- Convalescent Home Ministry - Visits the elderly and infirmed to
bring them the gospel news of salvation.
- Hostess Ministry - Hostesses greet and welcome visitors and
regular attendees to church services.
- Lion Tamers - A support group that meets at the La Habra campus
weekly to help those with drug/chemical addiction through prayer and the study of God's
word.
- Membership Classes - A 12-week course that prepares baptized
believers to formerly join FFBC as members. Includes instruction on church doctrine and
organization of the church.
- Mexicali Gospel Outreach - A short-term, cross-cultural
missionary outreach to Mexicali (Northwestern Mexico) to spread the gospel.
- Missions Committee - A panel of church members (appointed by
Elder Board) that screens candidates for missionary service or support.
- Mothers of Hope - Provides support and encouragement to single
persons with children.
- Music Ministries - Various groups such as the vocal and
instrumental essembles that prepare and perform special musical programs.
- New Life in Christ Classes - A one-month class to give new
believers an overview of the Bible and provide an in-depth understanding of Christianity.
An essential preparation for those desiring to be baptized.
- Child Care Ministry - Volunteers that provide child care during
church services.
- Parking Lot Ministry - Volunteers that direct traffic to the
various parking lots and stand guard over vehicles.
- Sound Ministry - Volunteers that provide sound and stage setup
for church services and special activities.
- Spanish Ministry - Church services and Sunday School classes
held in Spanish.
- Tape Ministry - Volunteers who record, duplicate and distribute
audio cassettes of church sermons.
- Torres Scholarship Fund - A
scholarship fund used to help with the educational expenses of qualified men who are
preparing for full-time gospel ministry.
- Usher Ministry - Ushers assist in seating the congregation, in
directing persons to the church nursery and classrooms and oversee the general order of
church services.
- Youth Softball Program - An
intra-church summer softball league with Christian coaching and supervision for children
and youth.
- Witnessing in the Neighborhood (WIN) -
Classes that teach believers how to share their faith through classroom instruction and
actual visitation.
- Women of the Word (WOW) - Bible study, sharing, and learning
about today's issues that concern women.
- Workmen of the Word - Men that gather
to study God's Word, pray together and have fellowship.
- Word of Life (WOL) - A High
School outreach ministry that meets Wednesday nights. Discipleship includes Bible study,
games, skits, music and Scripture memorization.
